Irma O. Goodenow

Irma O. Goodenow, 89, of Hot Springs Village passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016 at a local hospital. Ms. Irma was born April 24, 1927 in Williamsburg, Iowa to Anton and Frieda Doehrmann Heitshusen, she was a teletype operator, bookkeeper, homemaker, member of Christ Lutheran Church and Wives of Submarine Veterans WWII. Irma did volunteer work in numerous Nursing Homes and was known as the “Sunshine Lady” at Good Samaritan.

Irma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Jerry Lyons, one granddaughter, Brigit Haydon, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wayne B. Goodenow, one grandson, Brandon Haydon, one brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. for family and friends to visit, share, and celebrate the wonderful woman that she was. Funeral starts at 11:00 with Rev. Warren D. Freiheit officiating. Burial will be at the Arkansas State Veterans’ Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in honor of Irma to the Rob Roy Endowment Fund through Christ Lutheran Church.
